I have not read authentic definition of GAPS any where. But i feel that Gaps as explained by my colleagues should mean the intervals that are seen in the trading graph due to the closing of stock market on two holidays in a weeks.

As i think in forex market chart when any candle open or close we observe a gaps or space between them but we not take it seriously and not try to want to know the reason for them also those gaps and spaces become more on friday when market come to close for weekend.
