A flag is a price pattern that, in a shorter time frame, goes against the dominant price trend shown in a longer time frame on a price chart. Flags are used in technical analysis. It is so called because it resembles a flag on a flagpole to the spectator. The flag pattern is used to spot a potential continuation of an earlier trend from a position when price has moved in the opposite direction of that trend. Entry
Flags may indicate a continuation of the present trend, but it is wise to hold off until the first breakout to prevent a misleading signal. Stop Loss
