long time for succesfull trading??

i read many times that forex trading is a short way to get success in life . a person who need money fast , come and join forex . i am not agree with that point . i believe that to get success in forex trading we need long time . i am in this business from last three years but not too much successful . i think more time is required to make my self a professional trader . what do you think that i am right . forex trading is not a short cut to success ?
