How to determine the perfect stop loss order?

I always got confused with the setting of perfect stop loss, can any one help me out about SL?

Stop loss is a method by which a trader can control his money wastage through trading loss. It is set by varying no of pips in different currency pairs. Basic pairs have large spreads. in their case when setting a sale trade, stop loss is set at a minimum pips equal to spread plus 20 pips. If the stop loss limit is not accepted by the system, then increase the limit successively by 5 pips.
