I don't think there is a specific time that you can wait before closing your position. It all depends on you. If you are not hitting the margin call, then I'd say you can keep your position opened for months. Although as a side note, I would like to mention that its never a good idea to keep your position opened on a weekend because anything can happen on a weekend and you might lose big at the start of a new week then.
