Relative Strength Index (RSI) Indicator

J. Welles Wilder ki tashkeel se tayyar kiya gaya Relative Strength Index (RSI) aik momentum oscillator hai jo keemat ke harkaton ki tezi aur tabdeeli ko napta hai. RSI zero aur 100 ke darmiyan oscillate karta hai. Wilder ke mutabiq, RSI 70 se zyada ho to yeh overbought qarar diya jata hai jab ke 30 se kam ho to oversold qarar diya jata hai. Signals ko bhi divergences, failure swings aur centerline crossovers ki talash kar ke paida kiya ja sakta hai. RSI ko aam trend ka pata lagane ke liye bhi istemal kiya ja sakta hai.
Wilder ne apni 1978 ki kitab, New Concepts in Technical Trading Systems, mein RSI ko shamil kiya hai. Is kitab mein Parabolic SAR, Average True Range aur Directional Movement Concept (ADX) bhi shamil hai. Computer yug se pehle tashkeel kiye jane ke bawajood, Wilder ke indicators ka waqt ke sath imtehan ho kar sabit hua hai aur woh ab bhi bohat mashhoor hai.

Calculation

Calculation ko asaan banane ke liye, RSI ko uske basic components RS, Average Gain aur Average Loss mein tor par tor par kiya gaya hai. Yeh RSI calculation 14 periods par mabni hai, jo Wilder ki kitab mein default tor par mashoor hai. Nuqsanat positive values ke taur par bayan kiye jate hain, negative values nahi.

RSI = 100 - 1 + RS

RS = Average Gain / Average Loss

Pehle average gain aur average loss ke liye bohat he asaan 14-period averages ki calculation ki jati hai:

First Average Gain = Past 14 periods mein hui Gain ki jamaa / 14.
First Average Loss = Past 14 periods mein hui Loss ki jamaa / 14.

Dusra aur aage ki calculation pichhli averages aur current gain loss par mabni hoti hain:

Average Gain = [(previous Average Gain) x 13 + current Gain] / 14.
Average Loss = [(previous Average Loss) x 13 + current Loss] / 14.

Pichhle price ko current price ke sath jodna ek exponential moving average ki calculation mein istemal hone wali ek smoothing technique hai. Is ka matlab hai ke RSI values calculation period barhne ke sath zyada durust hote hain. Sharp Charts kisi bhi chart ke shuruaati tareekh se kam az kam 250 data points istemal karta hai (yehi umeed ki jati hai ke itni zyada data maujood hai) jab ke apne RSI is se apana aik behtareen result hasil kar leta hai.

Trading Techniques

1. RSI Divergence:Divergence mein, RSI indicator ki reading price action se different hai, matlab agar price high jaa raha hai aur RSI low jaa raha hai, ya price low jaa raha hai aur RSI high jaa raha hai, toh yeh divergence hai aur yeh traders ko potential trend reversal ka signal deta hai.
2. RSI Overbought & Oversold Levels:Overbought aur oversold levels mein, RSI indicator ki readings ka range 0-100 hota hai aur jab RSI 70 se zyada hojata hai toh yeh overbought condition hai aur jab RSI 30 se kam hojata hai toh yeh oversold condition hai. Overbought aur oversold conditions mein, traders ko potential reversal signals ke baare mein sochna chahiye.
3. RSI Failure Swings: RSI failure swings mein, RSI indicator ki reading trend ki strength ko show karti hai. Agar RSI 70 se zyada hojata hai aur phir price down jata hai, aur phir RSI dubara 70 se upar nahi jata hai toh yeh RSI failure swing hai aur potential trend reversal ka signal hai.
4. RSI 50-crossovers:RSI 50-crossovers mein, jab RSI indicator 50 level ko cross karta hai toh yeh trend ka change ka signal ho sakta hai. Jab RSI 50 se upar jata hai toh uptrend ka signal hai aur jab RSI 50 se niche jata hai toh downtrend ka signal hai.
