How truthful is it that it's only about 5% of traders that are successful?

I am among those Forex Forum Members, who have joined very recently so it is very much possible that Seniors may not give any weight to the verdict of us, considering us newbies. However, I would still say that this percentage (5%) seems pretty unrealistic friends...ratio of successful traders is, and must be, much higher.
