a loss and forced to square-off the position.One could possibly sell a fraction of "A" equal to the amount of "B" and 'hedge' possible losses with profits of 'A' until recovery of either to regain your Stock holding of 'A'. This is also a way of "hedging" if you are not a F&O trader (I presume).
