My name is _____ and I work at a massage company owned by a BIPOC woman and
staffed mostly by Black people. I take great pride in being part of such
a unique, powerful, and dynamic team. At our company, we
specialize in Massage for Women.
It has been such an incredible experience for
me to be part of a business where we can positively impact
the lives of so many different women. Every day, I witness firsthand the transformative power of massage.
I witness how massage can help women relax, heal, and re-energize.
One of the most amazing moments I experienced in my time at this massage company
was when I had the privilege of working with a client from Paterson, NJ, who was in need of relaxation.
She told me that she had just moved to Paterson from Puerto Rico, and had
never received a massage before. I was so excited to show
her the healing power of a massage!
I started off by speaking to her in both English
and Spanish, so that she felt comfortable and confident in her
massage experience. I was able to explain to her the importance of relaxation and the powerful effects
of massage. After the massage, she thanked me and said she
felt amazing. I could see the transformation in her face,
and it made me feel so proud to be able to provide this
service to someone in need.
My experience at this massage company has taught me so many things, but
the most important thing I have learned is that massage is a very powerful tool.
It has the power to help people relax and heal,
and to provide a safe space for people to be themselves, without judgement.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to work
for a company that is focused on helping people in need and making a difference in their lives.
At our massage company, we strive to provide an inclusive and safe atmosphere for all our clients.
No matter their background or ethnicity, we want all our clients
to feel welcome and respected. We make sure that each of our clients feels comfortable, relaxed, and taken care of.
This is why I'm so proud to be part of a BIPOC women-owned
massage company that has a majority-Black workforce. I know my work is making a
difference in the lives of others and that feels amazing.
One day, while speaking with one of the other massage therapists at our company, I said to her, "It's amazing that we can be a part of something so special, something that brings healing to people in need. I'm so proud of what we are doing here." She smiled and replied, "Yes. We are making a real difference in people's lives and that's something to be proud of!"
That conversation really stuck with me, and it is something
that I will always remember. Working at a massage
company owned by a BIPOC woman and staffed mainly by Black people
has been an incredible experience. I'm proud to be part of a team that is making a real difference in the lives of so many people.
