Gaps do occur in the forex market but they are significantly less common than in other markets because it is traded 24 hours a day , give days a week. Gaping can occur when economic data released that comes as a surprise to the market's or when trading resume after the weekend or a holiday.

Yes dear gap occurs in the holidays we have recently witnessed a huge gap by oil trading there was attack on Saudia oil refinery due to which after the weekend the oil prices gone very much up 5 dollar per barrel with the gap from 55 dollar per barrel to 60 dollar per barrel. So we must close before the markets close on the weekend.
